I am a semi retired Head of Geography who has taught in Secondary Education for 32 years at 4 different schools. I established a keen interest in weather forecasting when I was at Secondary School myself and this interest in meteorology has stayed with me ever since, through university and into my profession as a teacher. Extreme weather events in the UK are my main specialism. Weather forecasting can be tricky at the best of times and I hope that I can make it simple to understand and at the same time interesting. I will try out some group exercises from time to time to see if you can predict the weather too. This course will be 10 weeks long and each week will be a taster to the many facets of meteorology which could be explored in more detail in the future.
