ABOUT THE GUILD

The legacy of the Guild for Lifelong Learning

Founded in 1926, The Guild for Lifelong Learning (formerly Wilmslow Guild) continues to fulfil its original vision "To provide a centre in which people may find opportunities for the enrichment of life through education, fellowship and co-operative effort for the welfare of the community." The Guild receives over 6,000 enrolments to more than 500 courses each academic year. Striving to enhance social inclusion, personal development and improve the health, wellbeing and individuals. With over 18 active clubs, groups and societies and the engagement of around 1,000 participants, we continue our efforts in building stronger, active and inclusive communities. The Guild for Lifelong Learning is a registered charity (1151387) and company limited by guarantee (08331345).

About the Guild

The Guild for Lifelong Learning's purpose is to provide lifelong learning opportunities through adult community education and social activities for the welfare of the whole community.

Based in East Cheshire, we embrace lifelong learning and promote the advancement of education within the heart of our community by delivering high-quality adult education courses and social activities. We provide friendly and enjoyable learning opportunities with the aim of improving the wellbeing of the community, encouraging active citizenship and reducing social isolation. The Guild for Lifelong Learning is a charitable educational institution, registered charity (1151387) and ltd (08331345).
