The series of lectures will investigate a number of islands from around the world. The lessons will be stand alone lessons with a different island studied each week. For each island studied there will be a set structure to the lessons, which will cover the geological history, rock types and structures found on the island, as well as the physical geography and climatology of the islands. There will also be analysis of the economic and political aspects of the islands and how they fit into the everchanging global geopolitical landscape.
