About this teacher
Lynda Favour BA (hons), RAD RTS
Mostly raised in Liverpool, at aged 3 I was introduced to the world of dance at Chiltern Casting School where I was taught by the wonderful Mrs Byatt. It was here where I gained vocational examinations in RAD Ballet, ISTD, Modern and National. I won scholarships with North West Performing Arts Summer schools, performed in main theatres across the North West, and was also awarded a place at the Urdang Academy, London.
I went on to professional training at Preston Park School Dance Centre (diploma in dance teaching) where I completed my RAD and ISTD advanced examinations and successfully obtained teaching qualifications in RAD ballet and ISTD ballet, modern, tap and national.
I furthered my training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2003 with a BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance (University of Leeds). As a student at NSCD, I specialised in Dance in Education and performed with Verve where I toured the country. I then went on to study for a MA in Arts Policy and Management.
In 2006, I opened the doors to my beautiful and very successful RAD ballet school in Northern Ireland. I owned and managed this school until I moved to St Albans in 2011. I then took a pause in my teaching career to raise my young family which brought me back to the North West, Wilmslow, where I’m keen to return to ballet -2020.
I am absolutely delighted to introduce Ballet by Lynda and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for ballet, dance, and movement. And, inspiring Dance for ALL!
I am a registered teacher with the RAD and have entered many children and adults for RAD examinations. I am proud to have a 100% pass rate. I am also committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD).
The Royal Academy of Dance inspires me as a dancer and a teacher and to always keep learning and growing.
Let’s do this together 💕
