Sabine Kussmaul
Sketching is a quick drawing method that aims to capture the essence of an object or a larger visual scene....

Sabine trained as a fashion designer with the aim to combine a fascination for drawing with the exploration of the sculptural potential of the human figure. After some time working as a free-lancer for sportswear, she moved into teaching Drawing and working as an Illustrator. Sabine also worked as a teacher in Further Education, in Germany and the UK, teaching a range of topics within Art & Design. Since 2008 has been focussing on her own visual arts practice which led to studies for a Masters Degree in Fine At. She has recently gained a PhD from the University of Chester, researching how embodied drawing practices can negotiate inter-relativity between self, body and environment, in the context of the outdoor environment of the British Peak District.
