Course synopsis
The class is aimed at all levels, students don't need to have any previous experience of French polishing or furniture restoration. I will also instruct on simple upholstery and chair seat caning.
Students need to bring along an item or two to work on and it can be of any size as long as they are capable of transporting it. If you are unsure an item is suitable please contact me to discuss it. The furniture can be antique or modern and it does not matter if it needs fully stripping and repolishing or merely cleaning down.
There is no formal structure to the class as all students can work at their own pace. It is a highly practical class but handouts will be given when relevant.
Students need to wear an apron and/or wear clothing and shoes that they do not mind getting dirty. Please also bring rubber gloves and old newspapers.
