Rosemary Broadbent

About this teacher

Rosemary read Music at Oxford University and has spent her career in Music education, including over twenty years as an Academic Tutor at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, teaching analysis, composition and aural perception. She also worked as a Principal Examiner for A Level Music, specialising in composition and analysis. Rosemary has composed music for schools, theatre groups and church choirs, and is a performance examiner for ABRSM. 

She is a well-established lecturer on music of all periods, keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm, and to encourage students to contribute their thoughts and the experience of their own performing and listening. She also gives pre-concert talks for the choir in which she sings and takes occasional pupils for compositional techniques and Oxbridge preparation.
