February issue of our Scams Awareness Update

I am pleased to enclose the February issue of our Scams Awareness Update, from Age UK’s Older Persons Scam Awareness & Aftercare Project [Issue 35].

As ever, please share with your members; their friends, neighbours, colleagues and wider family members; [regardless of age or location].

This month, we’ve teamed up with representatives from the banking industry to explore what the banks are doing to prevent fraud occurring, and what we need to do to keep our money safe.We also provide updates on the current fraud alerts in our catchment area, including:

  • Fake equity release emails

  • Fraudulent car parking QR code

  • Election photo ID potential fraud

  • Disaster response donation fraud tactics

The bulletin attached to this email, can also be downloaded from the Age UK website at the following links, so please feel free to pass on the URLs to anyone you think might be interested or benefit from the enclosed information.
