Details on our website COURSES 》MUSIC

Our non-auditioned, ‘Singing for Fun’ choirs at the Guild are suitable for anyone who loves to sing.

They are a warm and welcome atmosphere for all abilities to explore the joys of singing within their community.

These sessions are lead by our new choral director- Olivia Hamblyn who is passionate about creating an environment where everyone can be involved in their own music making. We will explore all different genres of choral music and themes leading up to 2 informal concerts throughout the year. Our aim in these sessions is to create a safe environment to explore all aspects of music- from theory to performance. But most importantly these sessions are to sing and have fun!

Olivia Hamblyn is a choral leader and mezzo-soprano based in Manchester. Whilst receiving her tuition from the Royal Northern College of Music, Olivia has had the opportunity to work as both a singer and choral leader with the Halle Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and Kantos Chamber Choir. She is currently the choral director for Mydel Ladies Choir, Assistant Conductor for Sale Youth Choirs and is a Sing For Pleasure Young Choral Scholar.

Olivia has a passion for working within communities and being able to share her love of music with others around her. She is also the founder of the non-for-profit organisation, ‘Musicians’ Minds Together’ ;an organisation for the awareness of classical musicians with mental health disorders.
