Scampston Hall Garden And Jackson’s Wold Trip

All Events

Information

Scampston Hall Garden is set within the original 18th century kitchen garden walls. Designed by renowned Dutch Plantsman Piet Oudolf, the garden is celebrating 20 years since its rejuvenation and is striking in style and yet a very tranquil space to explore. The garden is divided into nine separate areas; each unique and alive with unusual plants.

Journey through the arresting perennial meadow, discover the contemporary waves of grass, and take time to enjoy the calm of the entirely green ‘silent garden’. The Walled Garden at Scampston is a remarkable sensory adventure.

Jackson’s Wold is a private 2 acre garden a short distance from Scampston situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds comprising a walled garden with mixed borders, numerous old shrub roses under planted with unusual perennials. Woodland paths lead to further shrub borders. A traditional vegetable garden framed by a Victorian greenhouse leads to a wild flower meadow.

Cost is £53 which is for the coach, entrance to both gardens, gratuities and tea and cake at Jackson’s Wold.  Lunch can be taken either in the cafe at Scampston or a packed lunch can be enjoyed in the garden.

The coach leaves from the Hickory Smokehouse at 08.15.  The contact for the day is Jane Thornton and the mobile telephone number for the day is 07919 313098
