Art Retreat to
Cromford, Derbyshire
A residential weekend with Guild Art teacher Anna Riordan. Slow down, explore and observe deeply.
Over the weekend, Anna will guide you through ways to respond to the textures and shapes that you see so that you develop a unique sensitivity to the particular things that you notice. Emphasis will be on developing your own artistic voice.
As well as drawing and painting on location, time will be spent back at the house where you will be encouraged to find ways to turn your studies into paintings. You will leave with an insight into new ways to interpret what you see. All meals are included and will be freshly prepared and cooked on-site leaving you free to indulge in two full days and evenings of focused drawing and painting sessions.
Cromford Mills is an historical site in the Peak District with something for everyone: Beautiful restored mill buildings; a canal; a picturesque church; a stately home; river; footpaths and rolling landscape, so whatever your interest you will find something to inspire you within walking distance of our accommodation.
