Course synopsis
Watercolours are a delightfully versatile medium, but can be tricky to get to grips with as a beginner! This course is designed to lead you through the basics of technique and application through a range of subjects from landscapes, still life, and botanical paintings. Beginners are welcome to join at anytime throughout the year as projects are tailored to ability.
If you are already familiar with watercolours, this course will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and introduce some new techniques to your repertoire. We will be tackling different themes each term to progress your skills.
We will cover colour theory and mixing, using tonal mapping to enhance our compositions, resist effects and textural techniques. In short, this course is suitable for beginners who need a guide to get started, and improvers who would like to explore the medium more fully.
