Later came the Seljuk Turks who had to confront Crusading armies from the west. Then the Mongols swept through and once they withdrew the Ottoman Turks began their inexorable rise to power. This course will explore the fascinating story of the shifting fortunes of those who sought to control Anatolia over a period of 1700 years
