Lost Cities Of The Ancient World

This course will examine the archaeology and history of some fascinating places. We begin in the Middle East with several sessions on Jordan, Syria and Iran Among the highlights in Jordan we will look at the lost city of Petra, in Syria at the desert city of Palmyra and in Iran at the ruins of Persepolis. Finally we will travel to Africa and explore the ruins of Sudan beside the Nile and the highlands of Ethiopia. The course will be amply illustrated with power Point and Video presentations of the five countries.
