Course synopsis
Approved by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) this is a twelve hour Child and Young Persons Mental Health & Wellbeing Course. This course is suitable for anyone who wants to increase their awareness of a young person’s mental health and how to support and manage it. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
Child and Young Persons Mental Health & Wellbeing Course Curriculum.
Weeks 1, 2 & 3 - Developing Foundations, Promoting & Implementing Mental Health & Wellbeing for Children & Young People
7 November - Promoting positive mental health and wellbeing
14th November - Building strong foundations using the step model of care
21st November - Creating a Mental Health and Wellbeing Development Plan
Half term break
Weeks 4, 5 & 6 - Mental Health Action Planning & Awareness in Children & Young People
28 November - Mental Health Awareness
5 December - Common mental health problems
12 December - Suicide Awareness & Specific mental health problems
On completion of weeks 1 to 3 you will be issued with a Child and Young Persons Wellbeing Ambassador certificate. On completion of the whole course you will be issued with a Child and Young Persons Mental Health Ambassador certificate.
Attendees must reach the required level of knowledge and skills to be awarded the certificate.
