A History Of Cornwall: Online Course

All CategoriesDistance Learning

Course synopsis

What is the course about?

Cornwall: one of the most evocative, romantic and dramatic counties in England. It is also one of the 'Celtic Nations,' with its own language (currently undergoing a revival), and strong historic connections with her sister nations Wales, Brittany, and to a lesser extent, Ireland.

This course will take a sweep through the history of this fascinating part of Britain, from protohistory through to the separatist movement of the modern day. We will meet ancient peoples, nobility, miners, and even the ubiquitous smugglers and pirates!

How will the course be delivered?

The course is delivered on Wednesday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Each week you will be sent an invitation to a Zoom call and follow-up emails are regularly sent with handouts, and links to slides and recordings of sessions where needed.
