About this teacher
Lynn has always found plant life inspirational. After working as an artist in advertising, as a studio head in the newspaper industry and as a lecturer in graphic design, she decided to put her passion for painting plants to the fore. She was awarded a Society of Botanical Artists' diploma and as a tutor she has been successfully sharing her expertise and enthusiasm for botanical art at Wilmslow Guild, in private classes and in art therapy groups for several years. "There is something very rewarding about taking a close look at nature and developing painting and drawing skills to reflect it," she says.
"And as a teacher it is wonderful to see students progress from little or no experience to become confident and accomplished botanical artists."
Watercolour is the perfect medium to replicate the beauty of botanical subjects for its transparent qualities, letting light shine through the colours. The tips on the use of this medium will enhance your work whatever the chosen subject for subsequent paintings.
