Information

This workshop is FREE to all participants and is jointly sponsored by funding and the facilitator who is donating her time without a fee.

Many people write journals as a way of keeping track of their lives and working things out. Writing can be a powerful means of tapping into your unconscious mind and making discoveries about yourself and your world that you were previously unaware of. Writing is also increasingly used as a tool for healing. Scientific experiments have proved that writing can be beneficial to our physical and mental health. This day will explore the different benefits which holistic writing can bring and give you the means to tap into your inner resources.

Writing on this day is safe because it is private and there is no expectation that you share your work unless you choose to do so. Writing in this way gives you the opportunity honestly assess yourself and your life. It is creative as it expands your awareness and creates future possibilities. It offers a chance to vent feeling safely and without fear, and it enables you to bring together different parts of yourself and your story. Writing ability is not a pre-requisite for attendance. You may find that an improvement in your writing occurs but this is not the primary aim. What matters is that you come with an open mind and a willingness to listen and contribute to others.

Who is this day school aimed at? The day is aimed at anyone looking to get more from life, and who is prepared to explore and discover in a group situation. How much, or how little, you decide to share about yourself, your life and your writing will be entirely your choice. We will look at methods to:

Discover what is really important to you

Bypass your internal censor

Come to terms with events

Understand and heal difficult relationships

Find direction.

Lots of new exercises added this time so even if you've attended in the past.
