The Ridges, Chorley – Mr and Mrs J Barlow
The unique and quirky garden at Mill Barn is a delight, or rather a series of delights. Along the River Darwin, through the tiny secret grotto, past the suspension bridge and view the fairy tale tower, visitors can stroll past folly, sculptures, lily pond, and lawns, enjoy the naturally planted flowerbeds, then enter the secret garden and through it the pathways of the wooded hillside beyond.

A wildlife and plant lovers’ garden developed from Victorian cottage plot and adjoining field. Series of themed spaces to delight the senses and the mind. Courtyard, ponds, mixed borders, kitchen garden, meadow, orchard, newly-planted woodland, many places to sit and relax.
Hazel Cottage, Bretherton, Preston
A gardener’s paradise with an acre of RHS Gold Award winning gardens and glasshouses, including tropical, temperate and desert zones. Themed and herbaceous borders, pinetum, fruit garden, bog garden, pond and woodland garden. Many plants labelled for identification purposes. Plant sales with many rare and unusual specimens.
Plant World, Myerscough College, Preston
Cost for trip, including coach fare, entrance fees for the four gardens and refreshments at two of the gardens is £45.
Please note that there is no lunch included but there is a café at Plant World. The coach will leave from Racecourse Road next to the Hickory Smokehouse.
