Course synopsis

The Reformation in England took a very strange path. The
dynastic requirements of Henry VIII rather than any theological imperative
drove the initial break with Rome. The subsequent policies of his three
children by three different marriages made for a turbulent century in both
Church and State. This course examines the reigns of the first four Tudor
monarchs from 1485-1558
